In this Newsround Special De-Graft Mensah heads to Ghana, the country of his family's heritage, to find out about the legacy of the British Empire on the country and its people.
We made a two-part animation on the Empire and Slave Trade, telling the story of 13 year old Ottobah Cugoano, how he was captured on the Gold Coast, then sold into the slave trade and shipped to the West Indies.
We were delighted that the animation won a RTS Craft & Design Award at the 2022 ceremony in the Design Programme Content Sequences.
We were also asked to create an explainer animation about the birth of the British Empire.
