A year on from Russia’s invasion, some of Ukraine’s children share their stories of fear, loss, strength and hope.
We were asked to animate Viola's Story - a young girl from Ukraine caught up in the conflict - and how the war has affected her life, her family and her hopes for the future.
We were asked to animate Viola's Story - a young girl from Ukraine caught up in the conflict - and how the war has affected her life, her family and her hopes for the future.
We also animated a prologue to show how life for the people of Ukraine changed since the start of the conflict. The style of this second animation is different from Viola's Story - we kept characters as silhouettes and went for a very limited colour palette, leaning towards shades of black, white and grey.
Our animation won at the 2023 RTS Craft & Design Awards in the Design Programme Content Sequences category.
